South West Cardiothoracic Centre

Appointed in 2005 I have spent 14 years as a consultant cardiologist whose primary responsibility is to deliver cardiac imaging at a cardiothoracic centre. The nature of this work is sub-specialised to a high degree.
Clinical interests Clinical lead for cardiac imaging (cardiac CT and echocardiography). Shared responsibility for pulmonary hypertension services and neuro-muscular disease.

Particular expertise
National role in cardiac CT (CCT). Highest level (3) accreditation, and previous tenure as vice president, of the British Society of Cardiac Imaging (BSCI). Significant contributions include establishment of national accreditation processes, standards documentation and national radiation dose audits. Over the last decade I have delivered in excess of 50 invited national / international lectures on the subject of CCT.

Prior to and following appointment as a consultant I have been involved in cardiac CT research. I have published widely on the subject and continue to do so. I have supervised MD students
